Itinerary: Colombian Coffee Sourcing Trip From January 13th to January 19th, 2017


This trip will be concentrated in the coffee heart of Colombia, identified as a World Heritage site by UNESCO


Saturday January 13:

  • We will pick you up at the airport in Pereira City

  • We will take you to a hotel in Chinchiná, which is the largest coffee producing department of Caldas.

  • 7:00 pm: Dinner time!


Sunday January 14:

  • 7:30 am: Breakfast!

  • 8:30 am: We will move to Belen de Umbria, which is the largest Coffee producer of the Municipality of Risaralda.

  • 11:00 am: We will appreciate the life of Colombian coffee growers, and will see jeeps abd coffee purchases. Then we will grab a cup of coffee in the middle of the town. Later we will go to the Finca Samaria, where each of you will experience the daily lives of Colombian coffee farmers, which includes activities such as planting, harvesting and processing fresh coffee.

  • 2:30 pm Lunch time!

  • 4:00 pm: We will return to our base hotel in the Municipality of Chinchiná.

  • 7:30 pm: Dinner time!

Monday, January 15

  • 7:00 a: Breakfast!

  • 8:00 am: We will travel to Manizales.

  • 9:00 am: We will take you around the Facilities of Selecto Exportadores, our Export Company in Colombia. You will see the entire coffee process including cleaning, milling, sorting and packaging.


  • 10:00 am: We will have the first cupping session with several Colombian coffees from different regions at Ritual of Coffee (Ritual del café).

*You will have the chance to book any of those coffees.


  • 02:00 pm: We will have the second cupping session with several Colombian coffees from different regions, also at Ritual of Coffee (Ritual del café).

  • 6:30 pm: We will take to a hot spring close in Manizales city and afterwards we will have a light dinner there.

  • 10:00 pm: We will return to our base hotel

Tuesday, January 16

  • 8:00 am: Breakfast!

  • 9:00 am: We will take you to Finca La Suiza, where you will see exotic varieties like Gesha and Wush Wush and will see the entire coffee process.

  • 1:00 pm We will have lunch at Finca La Suiza

  • 7:00 pm: We will have dinner in Finca La Suiza

  • 9:30 pm: We will return to our hotel in Chinchiná.

Wednesday, January 17

  • 6:30 am: Breakfast!

  • 7:30: We will move to Salento Municipality that belong to Quindio department. It is called father of Quindío because it is the oldest municipality of this department, and it is famous for its wax palm tree. It has a great variety of tourist attractions where you can enjoy ecological walks and the beautiful landscapes of the locality. It is distinguished by the architecture of its square, its old houses in bahareque with mud walls, the kindness of its inhabitants, its street art demonstrations, and its excellent climate.

  • 1:00 pm: Lunch time!

  • 7:30 pm: We will have dinner and spend the night in Salento

Thursday, January 18

  • 8:00 am: Breakfast

  • 9:00 am: We will travel to Finca Sausalito.

  • 12:00 pm We will return to Manizales

  • 1:00 pm: Lunch time!

  • 2:00 pm: We will take you on a tour around the city of Manizales

  • 7:00 pm: Dinner time!

Friday, January 19

  • We will take you to the airport in Pereira City.

*We will cover all expenses during your stay in Colombia. You will pay for your roundtrip ticket US-Colombia, and your travel health insurance – that’s all!
